What's in here?

Following on from the publication of Testing Times, the Audit Commission has continued work on diabetes services by:
  • collating data from the audits of diabetes services;
  • collecting information on how primary care organisations (PCOs) and health authorities (HAs) are commissioning diabetes services and on how primary care is delivering diabetes services; and
  • designing a tool to help PCOs, HAs and general practices assess the services that general practices are currently providing.

At this stage, this site contains audit data and examples of innovative practice. The remainder of the work will be launched on here once the National Service Framework on diabetes is published.

Who is it for?

This site is most relevant to:
  • HA and PCO chief executives;
  • HA public health doctors;
  • HA and PCO commissioning staff;
  • GPs and practice nurses;
  • acute trust diabetes teams;
  • chief executives; and
  • interested patients
